The title comes from the comment of a colleague of mine who described the corridors of his apartment building - the very fine Ansonia in Manhattan - as a "Russian bowling alley", due to the flocked wallpaper. Archival digital pigment print, 36.45 x 32.1 cm. (id#931)

Some additional, highly patternistic works made by various manipulations of image files created with a camera or a scanner, or obtained via a screenshot of a visualization of a file on the computer screen. A few are merely manipulated graphically, that is, assembled by simple means. Others depend on superimposition of slightly different versions of a file. One or two are symmetrical, some repeat a pattern, others are interference patterns, and one is homogeneous but non-repeating. Some of them, especially the "Interference" series, are visual analogues to the musical compositions of Steve Reich and Philip Glass. Due to their extreme uniformity, most of these images are followed by a detail, enlarged, to give a better idea of the nature of the images.
